The Current Site
Currently the Davidson Whaling Station is a historic site, it was made this by the National Parks and Wildlife Service in 1986. It covers an area of 27ha.

The cottage ‘Loch Garra’ which was built by George Davidson in 1896 and housed his family until 1945 is still standing and it gives us a look into the lives of a 19th century whaler.

The Davidson Whaling Station Historic Site is located about a 30 minute drive south of Eden, it is also only about a 10 minute drive from Ben Boyd National Park.

Entry into the Davidson Whaling Station Historic Site is free and is available all year round, tours are conducted during the Eden Whale Festival.

There are wooden paths leading down from the car park past the cottage and down to the Kiah Inlet on the shores of Twofold Bay.

There are signs around where the tryworks were located detailing the whaling stations operations. You can still see the remains of the whaling station.
