Topics of Interest
The Davidson whaling station operated from 1826 through to 1932. Three generations of Davidson’s worked on the shore based whaling station. They were the only whalers in the world to work in partnership with killer whales (orcas).

Law of the Tongue
The Davidsons were the only whalers in the world to work in partnership with killer whales.
It seemed that they had an agreement as such with the killer whales which was called ‘The Law of the Tongue’.
The Current Site
Currently the Davidson Whaling Station is a historic site, it was made this by the National Parks and Wildlife Service in 1986. .
The cottage ‘Loch Garra’ which was built by George Davidson in 1896 and housed his family until 1945 is still standing.
My trip to Davidson Whaling Station
I have now been to the Davidson Whaling Station Historic Site twice now.
The first time I went was in 2014, I was 10.
The second time I went was recently with my Mum to do research for this assignment.
